General Team/Training Policy
The emphasis
will be on training and development and it should be conveyed to your
child that by participating fully in the training sessions, working
hard and listening to what is being said they will improve their skills
and the likelihood of being selected for the team. The manager at the start of the season will explain their own team policy to all parents and players.
Although children will find it difficult not to
be dispondant if not selected to play for the team we hope that with
your encouragement and the coaches support they will derive real benefit
and enjoyment from the training sessions themselves and will use the
opportunity for practise, improvement and fun. If at any time we feel
that a child is not behaving appropriately within a training session
they will be given one warning and if the behaviour does not improve
they will not be selected for the team for that week. Inappropriate
behaviour is a distraction for the session and is unfair on those children
who are there to learn.
With both the training and the matches the emphasis
for those participating is to learn and have fun - winning is good but
not everything.
We hope that you feel comfortable with our thoughts
on team selection and training, and feel passionately that each child
should have the same opportunities regardless of ability but they should
also have a desire to improve no matter what level they are at.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of training, matches, selection or
anything related to any team please speak to the relevant Team Coach
in the first instance, they will always endeavour to do their best for
your child and the club.
