PRESENTATION DAY HERO'S.

I hope all that attended Sunday’s event had a good time and enjoyed the afternoon, it was a shame about the wind, but the sun shone and certainly the children seemed to be having fun.
I would just like to record the Committees thanks to those “special people” who worked so hard to make the day run smoothly and gave up their time unselfishly to ensure others enjoyed the day.
Presentation Day Organiser – Stuart Pates.
Drinks Tent – Andrea Halfacree and Dawn White.
BBQ – The Watling/Bailey family, including Grandparents and the Frost family.
5-a-side Competition – All the Coaches/helpers that organised the teams.
Referees- The parents that went out there and gave it a go.
Bread Roll Organiser – Gary White.
Drinks and Food Organiser – Jon Halfacree.
Loan and set up of Marquee – Clive Rush
And finally all the volunteers that helped set up the marquee (not an easy task in that wind), pitches and BBQ area etc, and then helped take them down, sorry if I have not mentioned you by name, but you know who you are and we are extremely grateful.
THANK YOU once again for helping the day go brilliantly.

Young Bucks at Dereham

Young Bucks U7s entered a tournament at Dereham on Sunday 11 May. On this extremely hot day the boys, Robin, Charlie, Sam, Jack, Luke, Josh, Dylan and Hugo played 6 games against very experienced opponents. They all played really well and done us proud. Although they lost the first 5 games they won the final game beating Cromer 4 - 0 with goals from Sam, Charlie (2) and Jack. My thanks to the players and to the parents for their support on the day which was a great experience for all.

Young Bucks v Bungay U7s

On Sunday 8 June the Young Bucks entertained Bungay U7s in a friendly at Kenninghall. A very enjoyable game was played by all. Although we lost 7 - 3 there was lots of potential shown by all the players in a game played in a very fun and friendly manner. All the Young Bucks played from ages 5 to 7. May the Young Bucks have continued success for the future as we shall both be moving on to manage the U8s next season.

U8s Tournament Runners Up

The sensational six from the U8s claimed the runners up spot at the Soccer on the Sands tournament at Great Yarmouth. Playing as hosts Austria in a Euro2008 styled competition the team squeezed through the group stages before showing their battling qualities in the knock out stages only losing the final with the last kick of the match.

Well done to all players and supporters – a long day but well worth it. We were praised by all the officials for our sportsmanship and effort. You are a credit to yourselves and the club.

UNDER 13s WIN CUP FINAL.

The first piece of silverware arrived at New Buckenham thanks to Nigel Frame and his Under 13s squad, recording a 4-2 victory over Watton in the Plate Final (see Under 13s page for match report), the Club and especially this team have come a long way over the past few seasons and are testament to what can be achieved with determination, effort and commitment and are a perfect example to the other teams in the Club.
The squad deserves huge praise, but without one mans unselfish effort this team would probably not even being playing, let alone winning cup finals, and I’m sure the whole squad, parents and supporters would wish to dedicate this victory to Nigel-well done you are a superb club member and represent all that’s good about youth football.
